Youth Spotlight: Ariana Lipat
Ariana Liezl Mann Lipat is the youngest of the three children of Noriel and Analiza Lipat. A rising junior at Savannah Arts Academy, Ariana consistently earns high honor roll, and will be leading the Lady Panthers tennis team as their Captain in the 2018-2019 school year. Ariana currently holds the #2 position amongst all other female tennis players in Savannah.
An accomplished young pianist, Ariana earned a Superior rating at this year’s Piano Fest and Superior Plus in Piano Guild. After graduating as part of the Class of 2020, Ariana continues to aim high: first on the list is to earn her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the Armstrong Campus of Georgia Southern University. Afterwards, she plans to attend Emory University with the ultimate goal of becoming an Anesthesiologist.
The spotlight on Ariana is not solely focused on her outstanding academic achievements and goals. Ariana’s dedication reaches beyond the classroom and tennis court into her personal life, as well. As a member of International Bible Christian Fellowship, Ariana is an active member of the Youth program, enjoying spiritual enrichment and acting as an ambassador of faith to newcomers. As a member of the Worship Team, Ariana enjoys worshipping Jesus Christ through playing piano, and through helping the congregation worship in song, as well.
Many who know Ariana know her to be both a beautiful and kind person who has a smile and a listening ear for anyone. Few know that she is also an accomplished Martial Artist. Ariana has already earned her Blackbelt in Taekwondo and continues to work towards her 2nd Degree Blackbelt. Ariana is cross-trained in the Filipino martial art of Eskrima, also known as Arnis.
Ariana’s spirit of community and family leads her to help others whenever possible. She attends Fil-Am events with her family, and volunteered days from her Spring Break to attend and play for the Symposium on the Philippines this March. Eating well is chief among Ariana’s personal hobbies, and she will break bread with friends and strangers alike. She has trouble identifying just one favorite type of food, but Mom’s home cooking is always best!
In conclusion, this Youth Spotlight has introduced you to a remarkable young Filipina. Ariana does not boast of her many accomplishments, nor her laudable qualities as a person, but a noteworthy life speaks for itself. The next time you see her, she won’t have tales of her newest awards, accomplishments or scores, but if you’ll give her a smile, she will always take time to return it. Truly the Filipinos of Coastal Georgia are proud to claim Ariana Lipat as on of their own.
